Luke records in verse 40, “They no longer dared to ask Him any question.” This shift in dynamics is crucial. Now, it’s His turn to pose the questions. In verse 41, we encounter His query, “How is it that they say the Christ is David’s Son? David himself says in the book of Psalms, “The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool.’” David, therefore, calls Him ‘Lord,’ so how is He his Son?’”
